The smallest pendant necklace in the line at a 1.5 centimeter diameter, the ochre-yellow varistor with its leads artfully curved into connecting rings is understated yet pretty. Closer inspection reveals an interesting, orange, glyph-like print, which actually consists of inverted manufacturer's marks. Carefully balancing the lightweight varistor is a spring ring at the back, along with a sizing chain that allows the necklace to be adjusted from 16" to 19".

A modification of the term "variable resistor," varistors keep important circuits safe from damaging power surges. While the value of traditional jewelry is derived from its rarity on earth, the varistor's preciousness comes from the important function it provides in the world of electronics. This larger varistor's leads are artfully curved into connecting rings, and attached via a jump ring to the cord. The subtle glyph-like print consists of the manufacturer's marks. It closes with a medium-size lobster clasp. The varistor is .75 in (2cm) in in diameter.
